DOGS 4 WORK since 1990
workingdogs in service

Hey, we are the team of DOGS 4 WORK

We proudly present our work on the dog and for sure the work together with the dog.

It is very important to us to bring the relationship between humans and dogs closer to home. Especially the area of working dogs. Not the dogs for exhibitions and shows, but the working dogs directly "on the man", "directly in service", and of course those which are used directly in the police service, for example, or the like.

I have increasingly noticed that “working dogs in service” show major deficits (uncertainties) in certain areas. An example: use on a construction site. Emergency dog was used to search for a "bad guy". After it was over, several people surrounded him in a confined area. "The Dog" (approx. 6 years old) showed great discomfort due to a tucked tail, defensive posture and stress behavior. This is not atypical for a single trained, fully trained working dog. These animals are perfectly trained, and i like to see them work. I don't want to discredit any work done by skilled workers here either. That is ABSOLUTELY far from my mind!
But in our, in my opinion, there is another way - a better way for people and dogs to work together!

The perfect conclusion to this mission should have looked like this: "Dog" (i do not tell further informations about it) stands between the group of workers and is positively motivated because he did his job brilliantly. He is cheerful and open-minded and is happy about this recognition. Conclusion: Recognizes positive motivation after work is done, positive ending, positive conclusion. At this point, I personally miss the direct relationship between handler and dog. The so-called "telephone conversation"; the connection.

What´s the different in our training?
For us, it is important that our dogs can be led by another service dog handler at short notice, e.g. through this kind of conversation and handling.Of course, this requires basic knowledge and the right handling. (The right choice of words, etc). For us, for example, one of the basic requirements is that the Malinois are very social outside of work. Open-minded towards people, friendly towards children, compatible with other dogs.

How we keep our dogs?
We always have a group in training. This means a group consisting of either females or males. This group can be composed of Malinoi, Doberman, Cane Corso, etc... Selected by breeders or from bad husbandry up to confiscations by the police or even killing stations. We test the potential and select in which areas the animals can be used. Many of our dogs have already been adopted as service or search dogs, as well as with former police officers. Our dogs are trained in obedience, search for e.g. tobacco, money (can of course also be trained on various other things if desired), trick dog exercises, various cross-country walks, distance training (i.e. controlling the animal from a distance)....and, of course, protective work and much more.

About me:
I have been working with dogs for over 20 years now. More with dogs than with people, as this type of communication is simpler and more straightforward. Every action brings a reaction, be it positive or negative. During these years, all the "aggressive", "difficult to train" and, as they are often called, "man-eaters" learned a lot from me. I was able to translate this very well into direct work with my own dogs and working dogs.

The human-dog relationship consists of constant communication. Every little movement, every shrug of the shoulders is absorbed by the dogs. And above all, mutual respect is important. I don't mean "please sit down" at all; that's ridiculous...
The dog is (as another dog trainer so brilliantly put it) an employee. Many people make the mistake of humanizing their animals. As a result, they cause more harm than good. They promote deficits and disrupt the dog's nature. Every dog has and wants a task. No dog wants to be carried around in a bag.
...now I've gotten a bit off topic, but at the same time I've given some insight into our basic settings.

Back to the topic: From an early age, our young dogs learn all kinds of work through positive motivation and also deal with their frustration. You learn to accept and respect boundaries and how to resolve them. And most importantly, positive reinforcement!
You will be trained in various areas. Be it in the search dog area (tobacco, money, etc.) or in protection work. This not only in individual training, but also in groups, in stressful situations, in realistic situations and in impassable, loud terrain. They are trained on bullet resistance and, above all (extremely important to us!!!) social skills. This means: Not a weak-willed, trained creature that cannot go to a dog park normally, not a dog where no visitors can come or who is overstimulated by noises or unpredictable, but a dog with a clear mind and a mind by their own - not a roboter or ball-junkey!

So the most important thing in training a malinois is the "call back" when he/she is in the shoot....

Some people will read these now and say to themselves: "Yes, that's completely normal anyway!" But why are there so many dogs with different problems?

Because we all know the Malinois right now! Ball junkeys and bug suckers through and through :-)
And for sure - we also fight EVERY DAY with the same problems like everybody - NO MISTAKES to make!
It´s absolute important to be honest in the dogtraining!!!

What do we offer?
1.) We train dogs from young until they are ready for sale for service.
2.) We train dogs with deficits. (Please write an e-mail to tell us about it)
3.) We offer young dog training as well as trick dog courses.
4.) Another focus is on dogs with unusual temperaments and confiscated dogs that are about to be euthanized.

What we do NOT offer:
1.) Protection work for private individuals
2.) Dog work for people who think they know better anyway.
3.) Work on dogs for people who think that they can "create" a new dog in 10 minutes without having to do anything themselves.

Finally, we would like to point out that we unfortunately have to make a selection due to the high demand and high utilization. This means that we do not have a training place available for every request. However, if we do not have a place available for you, we will be happy to add you to our waiting list.
